How it Works

Ultrasonography machines generate ultrasound waves.

The machine is attached to a handheld device that is placed against the patient’s skin. It delivers ultrasound waves, which bounce off internal structures, such as organs, and return to a sensor inside the machine. The machine then uses these “echoes” to generate images that our veterinarians can view on a screen.
