We are here when your pet needs us most
When your pet is sick or in pain, you want to get them help right away.
At Orting Animal Hospital, we understand that unexpected health issues and injuries can arise at any time. That’s why we offer dedicated urgent care services for cats and dogs in Orting.
Urgent Care Hours
Mondays and Fridays: 8 AM – 6 PM
We ask that you call ahead to let us know your pet’s condition and arrange a time to arrive. Our urgent care doctors are ready to assist you.
What Is Urgent Care?
Our urgent care services provide prompt medical attention for pets who need help but are not experiencing a life-threatening emergency. We focus on addressing your pet’s immediate health concerns while prioritizing their comfort and care.
Please note: We are not an emergency facility. Though we are equipped to handle some emergency cases, we may need to stabilize your pet for transfer to an ER facility depending on the severity of their condition and if overnight care is required. If your pet is experiencing a life-threatening emergency, please contact your nearest animal ER. If you are unsure, give us a call—we’ll help determine the best next step and can stabilize your pet for transfer to an ER if needed.
Conditions We Treat
Our skilled urgent care team is experienced in handling a wide variety of health concerns, including but not limited to:
- Laceration repair and wound treatment (burns, hotspots, penetrating objects)
- Possible foreign body obstructions (e.g., ingesting non-food items)
- Trauma cases: hit by car, minor injuries, or some fractures
- Urinary issues: straining to urinate, blood in urine
- Digestive issues: straining to defecate, blood in stool, anorexia (not eating) for over 24 hours
- Respiratory concerns (call first to confirm availability)
- Eye injuries: ruptured eyes, severe infections (including eye removals)
- Bleeding masses or rectal bleeding
- Lethargy or sudden changes in behavior
- Neurological symptoms: stumbling, disorientation, or decreased use of hind legs
- Aural hematomas (swelling in the ear flap)
- Vaccine reactions
- Pyometra (uterine infection)
